CUSTOM THROWING PROGRAM
The bottom was the first video we took of this HS player. He threw across his body and was all over the place with his command. Now we have him going in a straighter line towards home and is able to use his trunk a lot more efficiently to deliver the ball and has more command because of it.
We see a lot of young pitchers with a 50-65 degree trunk tilt at ball release. Elite pitchers are between 30-40 degrees.
Here is a young pitcher who's arm is not connected and dragging as he pitches. Staying connected and using the arm fluently with the body is the most crucial aspect of teaching young pitchers how to be more efficient, powerful, and accurate. HINT: It's usually a strength & coordination issue that can be fixed with the right exercises and drills.
